Bilingual publication showcases the city's economic, logistical, and educational potential and brings together political and business leaders at an event held at Lupo's headquarters.

Araraquara took a strategic step towards expanding its institutional visibility and attracting investments with the official launch of the City’s Book Araraquara 2026-27, held this Friday morning (17), in the Lupo auditorium. The initiative brings together public authorities, the productive sector and representative entities around a proposal for international promotion of the municipality, through a bilingual publication that highlights its main economic, social and logistical assets.
The head table was composed of the mayor of Araraquara, Dr. Lapena; the president of the City Council, Rafael de Angeli; the Secretary of Communication, Paula Cardoso; the Secretary of Economic Development, Gerson Roza de Freitas; the president of the Araraquara Commercial and Industrial Association (ACIA), José Janone Junior; the president of Lupo, Liliana Aufiero; the CEO of the Inepar Group, Augusto Pires; and the general director of the City’s Book project, Victor Falcão.
Conceived as a territorial marketing tool, City’s Book positions Brazilian cities in national and international showcases, connecting opportunities to investors, chambers of commerce, embassies, and companies interested in expanding operations in the country. This is the first time Araraquara has been part of the project, which has been developed by the responsible group since 2013.
The publication highlights significant indicators, such as its prominent position in the Brazilian Social Progress Index — third among medium-sized municipalities and 12th in the overall ranking — as well as a diversified economy with a relevant presence in the industrial, technological, agro-industrial, and logistics sectors. Its strategic location, close to important road and rail networks, is also cited as a competitive advantage.
During the presentation, the project's general director, Victor Falcão, highlighted the city's potential.
“In a scenario marked by information overload and the speed of digital platforms, the magazine maintains a strategic role precisely because it organizes, qualifies, and gives depth to the content, offering a more reliable and structured narrative. Unlike the fragmented flow of social networks, it allows for context, curation, and permanence, functioning as an institutional tool for presenting the city,” he stated.
Representing the industrial sector, Lupo's president, Liliana Aufiero, highlighted the historical connection between the company and the municipality.
“The name Araraquara is already deeply linked to Lupo. This relationship comes from generations. I remember conversations with my uncle, who always made a point of saying that the company already existed even before the Second World War. This shows not only the longevity of the brand, but also how the city has always been present in this trajectory. Participating in a project like this magazine reinforces this commitment to local development,” he stated.
The mayor of Araraquara, Dr. Lapena, concluded the ceremony by emphasizing the institutional role of the initiative.
“We are presenting Araraquara to the world in a structured and strategic way. This material summarizes who we are: a city with quality of life, productive capacity, and a vocation for responsible growth. It is an invitation for new investments to find a solid and promising environment here,” he stated.
The publication has the support of the City Hall, through the Secretariats of Communication and Economic Development, as well as sponsorship from companies and institutions such as ACIA, Hotel Fazenda Salto Grande, Lupo, Uniara, Shopping Jaraguá, Randon and Iesa.
In addition to the print version, the content will be available in digital format, expanding the reach of the initiative. The goal is to consolidate the municipality as a regional benchmark and increase its integration into global business networks, reinforcing its image as a strategic hub in the interior of São Paulo state.
