Sorocaba receives special edition of the magazine "City's Book Sorocaba SP 2020"

The Convention Center of the Technological Park of Sorocaba (PTS) received, this Tuesday night (10), the business, political and academic public for the launch of the special edition City's Book Sorocaba SP 2020. The launch was attended by mayor Jaqueline Coutinho, in addition to municipal secretaries.


The initiative is the result of a partnership between companies in the city and the communication group Maná Group, in addition to institutional support from the Prefecture of Sorocaba, through the Secretariats for Economic Development and Communication. The City’s Book Sorocaba edition was published in three languages: Portuguese, English and Mandarin, and aims to highlight the main attractions of the city in the area of ​​economic development.


With 116 pages, the material presents the potential that Sorocaba offers to attract investments, such as the tax incentive program, excellent quality of life and investments made in the areas of urban mobility, health, safety and education.


The material will be distributed throughout the national territory through select business mailing, class bodies, Chambers of Foreign Trade and similar entities. Governing body bodies: Legislative Assembly, Chamber of Federal Deputies and Senate, in addition to Ministries. It will also be distributed internationally by Embassies, Consulates, Ministries of Foreign Affairs and headquarters of companies located in the municipality.


During the ceremony, Victor Falcão, public relations for the City's Book project, explained that without any cost to the municipality, the material will serve as a business card for Sorocaba, with the objective of increasing the visibility of the municipality internationally in order to generate new partnerships and investments . "I would dare say that here today in this event, a good part of Sorocaba's GDP (Gross Domestic Product) is represented, which demonstrates the importance of this project and its objective", he said.


The Secretary for Economic Development, Labor and Tourism, Robson Coivo, also highlighted the importance of Sorocaba being part of this project. “It is a material that brings information from companies and the city, which creates new relationship and business opportunities for Sorocaba. Our city has all the characteristics and conditions to further advance in all segments, from its privileged location, territorial area and diversified economic activity ”, he said.


"Sorocaba is one of the main economies of the State and of the country. Therefore, we decided to participate in this project because we are visited regularly by businessmen from different countries and we want to present a little of our city", highlighted the Mayor of Sorocaba, Jaqueline Coutinho.


Also during her speech, the mayor listed a series of actions and projects aimed at attracting new investments to the city, such as recently the sanctions of laws 12.103 / 2019, which establishes guidelines for tax incentives for the central region and number 12.099 / 2019, which deals with tax incentives for industries and service providers.


The mayor recalled that Sorocaba received, over the last five months, investments of the order of (R $) 1 billion 230 million by companies that have installed themselves in the city or are expanding the existing bases, while the total of direct and indirect jobs 6,120 new jobs will be generated or are expected to be generated from these investments. "We closed 2019 with a balance of almost two thousand new jobs created, according to data from the General Register of Employed and Unemployed (Caged), of the Ministry of Economy", he said and concluded: "Sorocaba has the 2nd best quality of life in State and the 1st in public cleaning, according to surveys carried out by the Indsat Institute, which evaluates, through opinion poll of residents, the satisfaction of public services and establishes a ranking.
