Consulate General of Brazil in Toronto receives City’s Book project

The Consulate General of Brazil in Toronto has an office focused on promoting bilateral relations with the offices of Canada in the cities of Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal.


According to the Itamaraty, the Commercial Promotion and Investment Sector (SECOM) is dedicated to promoting Brazilian companies, attracting investments and promoting tourism to Brazil, providing assistance to Brazilian companies entering the Canadian market; provide to Canadian companies that are applied in Brazil or in the interest of Brazil; provide data and research on the Canadian market; organization of seminars, fairs and workshops; organization and rendering of services to the Brazilian commercial media.


The City's Book team was received on February 12, 2018 by Minister Ademar Seabra da Cruz, Deputy Consul General and Head of the Trade Promotion Sector together with his team, Mrs. Angela Crico and Mr. Jose Eduardo. The meeting discussed the partnerships that Brazil and Canada have in the area of mining, the sector highlights the operation of Vale do Rio Doce that announced for 2018 investment of US $ 2 billion for expansion in the nickel operation.

Education is another area where the relationship between the two countries is strong. Brazil is one of the countries that most sends exchange students to study English in Canada, according to the Languages of Canada Brazil association, Brazil was the country that most sent students to study languages in 2017.


Copies of the City's Book project were made available at the Consulate to present potential Brazilian cities focused on fostering relations between the two countries.
